The Cleveland Rockers Returning To WNBA

 The WNBA will welcome back the Cleveland Rockers to the league. The teams will debut in the 2028 season. The Cleveland Rockers were a WNBA team from 1997 to 2003 before the original Rockers disbanded due to financial challenges.

The return of the Cleveland Rockers to the WNBA has been a topic of much speculation and hope among fans and sports enthusiasts in Northeast Ohio. According to recent reports, the WNBA has all but confirmed Cleveland as the home for its 16th franchise, with an official announcement expected no later than March 2025. 

The franchise bid, led by Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert and his Rock Entertainment Group, reportedly came in at a league-record $250 million, indicating a strong commitment to bringing women's basketball back to Cleveland.
