Victor Wembanyama To Miss The Rest Of The Season
It has been announced that Victor Wembanyama is slated to miss the rest of the season. The San Antonio Spurs have revealed the All-Star center has been diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder. This condition was discovered after he returned from the All-Star Game in San Francisco.
Wembanyama sophomore year ends with 46 games played, averaging 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and a league-leading 3.8 blocks per game. This also means he won’t meet the NBA’s 65-game minimum for end-of-season awards like Defensive Player of the Year, All-NBA team, and more.
The San Antonio Spurs are optimistic about his full recovery by the start of the 2025-2026 season.
