Jets WR Coach Suspended For Violating The NFL's Gambling Policy

New York Jets wide receiver coach Miles Austin is being suspended for a year for violating NFL's gambling policy.

According to reports Miles Austin was not gambling on NFL games or college football games. Austin's attorney has stated that they plan to appeal the suspension and claims Austin never bet on NFL games.

"The NFL suspended Miles Austin for wagering from a legal mobile account on table games and non-NFL professional sports, Miles did not wager on any NFL game in violation of the Gambling Policy for NFL Personnel. He has been fully cooperative with the NFL's investigation. He is appealing his suspension." - William P. Deni Jr., Miles Austin Attorney

I completely understand why the NFL does not want anyone apart of the league involved in sports betting. The NFL wants to protect the integrity of the game. But the league should not outlaw players, coaches, referees, etc from betting on sports altogether.
