Ketel Marte's Home Burglarized During All-Star Break
While All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte was showcasing his talents at the MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta, his Scottsdale, Arizona, home was targeted in a burglary. The incident, described by Scottsdale police as a "high-dollar residential burglary," occurred near 64th Street and Shea Boulevard, with signs of forced entry reported at the residence. Numerous personal items, including valuable jewelry, were stolen while the home was unoccupied, as Marte and his family were in Georgia for the All-Star festivities.
The burglary has prompted the Arizona Diamondbacks to place Marte on the restricted list, allowing him personal time to address the emotional and logistical aftermath of the incident. Manager Torey Lovullo expressed support, stating, "He's dealing with a personal issue, so he asked for some time off, time away, just to get grounded and get himself back to where he can come back here and play and be a force for us."
Lovullo anticipates Marte’s return to the lineup within a few days, but no official timeline has been confirmed.
