Kyrie Irving Wants To Play For Australia In 2028 Olympics

Kyrie Irving has officially expressed that he wants to play for the team Australia In the 2028 Olympics. For those who don't know Kyrie was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1992.

"We’re in the process of that right now, just trying to figure out what’s going to be the best route for me to be eligible. There’s a lot of paperwork in between that." - Kyrie Irving

This sounds like nothing but revenge from Kyrie Irving on Team USA. Despite being available, Kyrie did not play for Team USA in 2020 or 2024. The last time Kyrie played for Team USA was back in 2016.

Switching national teams is not an easy process. Under FIBA rules, a player who has competed for one country at the senior international level typically cannot switch to another unless granted an exemption by FIBA’s secretary general. This process requires approval from USA Basketball, Basketball Australia, and FIBA itself.
