Indiana Fever Unveils Plans For New $78 Million Sports Complex

The Indiana Fever has announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art training and practice facility, heralding a new era for women's basketball in Indianapolis. The project, set to begin construction this summer, represents a significant investment in the sport and the community, aiming to solidify Indianapolis as a hub for women's sports.

The Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center, as it's officially named, will occupy the former site of the Marion County Jail, located near the intersection of East Maryland and Delaware streets, just a stone's throw from Gainbridge Fieldhouse. This three-story, 108,000-square-foot complex is expected to open its doors before the 2027 WNBA season, transforming a piece of the city's landscape into a world-class training facility for one of the league's historic teams.

The sports complex is slated to be more than a practice facility. Check out the list of amenities the building will have.

  • Two regulation-sized basketball courts for practice and training sessions.
  • A comprehensive weight room and recovery facilities featuring a spa-like retreat with massage services, infrared light therapy, sauna, steam, heat studios, float tanks, and hydrotherapy pools.
  • Mental performance spaces to support athletes' psychological well-being.
  • A private outdoor courtyard for relaxation and team-building activities.
  • A hair and nail salon and childcare space catering to the holistic needs of the players.
  • A podcast and content production studio to engage with fans and share stories from the Fever locker room
The Indiana Fever's new sports complex is more than a building; it's an investment in the future of women's basketball, in the city of Indianapolis, and in the hearts of its fervent supporters. As the project moves from blueprint to reality, it's clear that this center will play a pivotal role in shaping the legacy of the Indiana Fever for years to come.
