The Detroit Lions have secured their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future. On Monday, Jared Goff signed a massive four-year contract extension worth a reported $212 million. This deal ties Goff to the team through the 2028 season and makes him the highest-paid player in Lions history.

The contract boasts a staggering $170 million guaranteed, showcasing the Lions' unwavering confidence in Goff's leadership. With an average annual value of $53 million, Goff becomes the NFL's second-highest-paid quarterback, trailing only Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.

This move comes after Goff's impressive performance in his first three seasons with the Lions. After arriving in a trade from the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, some viewed him as a temporary solution.
