Luis Arraez Traded To The Marlins

The Minnesota Twins have traded the 2022 American League batting champ Luis Arraez to the Miami Marlins. In exchange, the Marlins will send starting pitcher Pablo Lopez, shortstop Jose Salas and outfielder Byron Chourio to the Twins.

The Miami Marlins now have Jean Segura, Jazz Chisholm Jr., and Luis Arraez in their infield. The Marlins clearly have plans to make some noise in that highly competitive National League East.

Pablo Lopez was clearly the second-best starting pitcher on the Marlins behind Cy Young award winner Sandy Alcantara. He had a 10-10 record with an ERA of 3.75. Lopez has good stuff and should see better numbers with a lot of American League batters never seeing him before.

The Miami Marlins getting Luis Arraez wins this trade for me. The man has a career batting average of .314 in his young career. He is not able to become an unrestricted free agent until 2026.
