The Breakdown On Gerrit Cole $324 Million Deal With The Yankees

Gerrit Cole absolutely breaks the bank with is new 9-year $324 million contract with the New York Yankees. Now, let's take a deeper look into this new historic deal. 

The deal will pay Cole an average of $36 million per season. The contract has a full no-trade clause. One of the key things about the deal is there is an opt-out option after 5 years. If the opt-out is exercised the deal would now be worth $180 million after 5 years. 

I personally do not believe Cole will remain a Yankee through this entire contract. Going a step further I don't believe Cole will remain at the ace pitcher level after the first three years of this contract.

If Gerrit Cole actually plays out the entire contract he will be a Yankee until he is 38 years old.
