Carmelo Anthony Denied To Play For Team USA

Carmelo Anthony proposed to play for Team USA in the upcoming FIBA tournament. His proposal was swiftly denied.

The managing director for USA basketball Jerry Colangelo, claims Carmelo would have been a distraction for Team USA. 

"I love Carmelo, he made a great contribution. He was a very good international player. But for where we are and what we're doing, that conceivably could have been a distraction. I understand why the request was made. He's trying to reestablish himself. I think that has to be done in the NBA" - Jerry Colangelo

I am of the belief that Carmelo makes the 2019 Team USA team better with him on. I also firmly believe Carmelo Anthony belongs on an NBA roster right now.
