Melvin Gordon Threatens Holdout, Wants New Contract

Melvin is rumored to be willing to holdout if he does not get a new long term contract. And if he does not get a new long term contract he would like to be traded.

Gordon is slated to make an estimated $5.6 million in the next season which is the most money he has made in the NFL in a single season. The 2-time pro bowl running back is averaging over 1,400 yards from scrimmage in the last 2 season.

Melvin Gordon is in an interesting position due to the NFL running not having the same value it once had. A quality running back is a dime a dozen in the NFL these days. So Gordon really has very little leverage regardless of how productive he has been on the field.

On the flip side, he does deserve a new deal he has clearly outperformed what he is getting paid and what he has been paid.
