What Will The Phillies Do With Franco?

Saying that Maikel Franco has under archived is an understatement. As a Phillies fan, I am asking myself how many years are we going to invest in the potential of Maikel Franco. I got the idea that while the Phillies are rebuilding, that Franco was going to be one of the players that they would build around. Franco doesn't get walked enough and he doesn't make contact enough to be a 3 hole hitter. I am not sold on his power to look at him as a cleanup hitter like Ryan Howard was for some many years.

One might say that the Phillies lineup doesn't provide protection for Franco no matter where you put him in the lineup. If teams come into the game and say Franco is their best hitter the teams will give him nothing to hit or pitch around him.

The Phillies have the rights to Franco for the next few years for not a lot of money so trading him doesn't do much. I hope his next two years he turns a corner and really shows the potential we all believe he has.
