Phillies Third Baseman Alec Bohm Sues His Parents
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm has filed a lawsuit against his parents, accusing them of siphoning large sums of money from accounts they managed on his behalf and using some of the funds for their personal expenses. The civil complaint, filed in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, seeks at least $3 million in damages along with other relief, including control of the accounts and a full accounting of the transactions.
According to the lawsuit, Bohm began reviewing his personal and financial affairs in recent months. He claims his parents, Daniel and Lisa Bohm, refused to grant him access to certain accounts or to provide detailed information about them. The suit alleges that the parents used a series of LLC's to funnel money out of Bohm's personal financial accounts, which they then allegedly "converted to their own use." It also claims that funds from The Alec Bohm Foundation were used to cover the parents' expenses.
The allegations date back to around 2019, when Bohm's parents reportedly set up two LLCs to hold assets and earnings from his professional baseball career. Bohm contends that his parents managed these entities but misrepresented their own stake in them and effectively "froze" him out of four accounts. In an initial investigation, a "very large sum of money" was misappropriated.
