2025 WNBA Schedule Revealed

The WNBA will see the addition of a brand new franchise, the Golden State Valkyries, bringing the total number of teams to 13. This expansion results in an increase in the regular season from 40 to 44 games per team, marking the first time in league history that teams will play this many regular-season games.

Here are the key dates and matchups for the 2025 WNBA season.

Championship Rematch: The Las Vegas Aces and the Phoenix Mercury will have a championship rematch, following their thrilling finals series in the previous year, featuring stars like Liz Cambage and Diana Taurasi.

Caitlin Clark vs. Paige Bueckers: A potential matchup between Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark and UConn's Paige Bueckers, should Bueckers be selected first overall by the Dallas Wings in the 2025 draft, is set for June 27.

New York Liberty vs. Las Vegas Aces: These teams will meet multiple times, highlighted by their rivalry where New York Liberty avenged their 2023 Finals loss by defeating the Aces in the 2024 semifinals. Significant games between these teams are scheduled for July 8 and August 13

Commissioner’s Cup: The Commissioner’s Cup will run from June 1-17, featuring a 36-game schedule where teams will play against each team in their conference once, with the Eastern Conference teams playing either three home and two away or vice versa, and Western Conference teams playing three home and three away.

Playoff Format Changes: The playoffs will see a new format where the first round will be a 1-1-1 setup for the best-of-three series, ensuring each team gets at least one home game. The WNBA Finals will extend to a best-of-seven format with a 2-2-1-1-1 structure, a first in league history for any playoff round.

All-Star Game: The All-Star Game is set for July 19, 2025, hosted by the Indiana Fever
