Rays To Build A New Stadium In St. Petersburg


 The Tampa Bay Rays have completed a deal to build a new stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida. This news puts the talks of the Rays relocating to another city.

The construction of the 30,000-seat domed stadium, which is set to open in 2028 is estimated to cost over $1.2 billion. 

Despite making the postseason 5 straight seasons including a World Series appearance, the Tampa Bay Rays suffer from low attendance. 

The city of St. Petersburg and Pinellas County are expected to contribute to paying the cost of building the stadium along with The Tampa Bay Rays.
