LeBron's Injury Changes The NBA As We Know It

LeBron James has suffered a high ankle sprain in a loss to the Atlanta Hawks. The Los Angeles Lakers have ruled James out indefinitely.

I have not to doubt that LeBron will play again this season but I find it hard not to notice how this injury affects the NBA. Without Anthony Davis and LeBron James, The Lakers are not a very good team. The Lakers at now confronted with the idea of do they still try to go for a Championship or do they allow James and Davis to spend the rest of this season making a full recovery.

For me, this Injury moves the Lakers out of the "best team in the west" slot. So out of the Jazz, Clippers, Suns, Blazers, and Nuggets which team is ready to take that leap forward.

I also think about the MVP conversation. For me, Joel Embiid was the MVP. This LeBron injury opens on the MVP conversation for a little bit more. With LeBron out of the picture, you have to look at Joel Embiid, James Harden, Damian Lillard, and even Chris Paul for MVP this season.

Thi injury also puts the Brooklyn Nets in sole position as the favorite to win the NBA champion.
