The Belmont Stakes Still Set For June

Usually, the Belmont Stakes takes place in New York in June as the last of the Triple Crown races. Due to unconventional times, The Belmont Stakes will be the first of the Triple Crown races to take place.

Michael Dubb, a member of the New York Racing Association's board of director has stated that the Belmont Stakes will take place "In the month of June". Dubb did not say what day in June, but I would have to assume it will either be June 6th, 13th, 20th, or 27th. The race will also be shortened from the traditional length of 1 1/2 miles.

The Kentucky Derby, usually the first leg of the Triple Crown was rescheduled from May 2, 2020, to September 5, 2020. The Preakness Stakes, usually the second leg, of the Triple Crown was rescheduled from May 16, 2020, to October 3, 2020.
