What Ever Happened To Slamball?
Slamball was great and to this day I still don't know how it did not become massively popular.
Slamball was basketball with trampolines with the physical contact of Hockey and Football. The sport was created by Mason Gordon and made its debut back in 2002.
The game was played with 5 minute quarters with a 15-second shot clock. This made for a fast pace high impact game that lasted about 20-25 minutes in total time.
Slamball had 2 seasons 2002-2003 before disappearing from TV altogether. The sport did make a resurgence on TV in 2007 and 2008 but again vanished from TV after the season. Slamball has made some overseas appearances as recent as 2015 in China where Mason Gordon expects to fully relaunch the sport in the country.
Damn, I miss Slamball.
