Ron Rivera Fired As Panthers Head Coach

The Carolina Panthers ownership has decided to cut ties with Ron Rivera.

"I thought it was time, why specifically now is I was informed of other teams doing different types of searches out there and I'm not going to start a search and not tell Ron Rivera I'm starting a search, too good of a man.'' - David Tepper, Carolina Panthers Owner.

Ron Rivera compiled a 76-63 record in 9 seasons as the head coach of the Panthers. This makes him the winningest head coach in the franchise's history.

I don't think it was fair to judge Ron Rivera without the team's franchise player in Cam Newton being healthy. To be honest I think Ron Rivera did a pretty good job with this team this season.

Ron Rivera will not remain unemployed for a long time. If he wants to coach again there are some teams that will be willing to give him a chance.
