The Yankees Get Rid Of Bird And Ellsbury


The New York Yankees have begun their winter cleaning already.

Jacoby Ellsbury have been officially cut by Yankees. The Yanks will still owe the outfielder an estimated $26 million. Ellsbury will get $21 million for the 2020 season and an additional $5 million for a 2021 team option. 

The Bronx Bomber will also cut ties will injury-prone first baseman Greg Bird. Bird hit .211 and 32 home runs while playing 186 games for the New York Yankees.
