Michigan Recruit Quits Football For Heart Issues

Michigan University quarterback recruit J.D. Johnson was forced to retire from football due to heart issues.

Johnson was diagnosed with a heart condition called coarctation of the aorta when he was 12 years old. After a recent evaluation, the doctors discovered bad news. If Johnson continued to play football it was possible that he could rupture his aorta. This news essentially ended J.D. Johnson's football career.

Johnson was a 3-star quarterback recruit from Pinnacle High School in Phoenix. Michigan Univesity said that they will still honor J.D's scholarship.
