Tampa Bay Rays Acquire Peter Fairbanks

The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired right-handed pitcher Peter Fairbanks from the Texas Rangers. The Rangers will get minor league prospect Nick Solak.

Fairbanks is only 25 but has had two Tommy John surgeries in his short career. The Rays are hopeful to catch lightning in the bottle with this acquisition. 

Despite the surgeries, Peter Fairbanks does throw an average fastball at 98 to 99 MPH.
