When Will The Nationals Trade Anthony Rendon?
Third baseman Anthony Rendon is slated to be a free agent after the 2019 season. With the National unlikely to be a playoff contender this seasons what those the future hold for Rendon?
I believe the only real option for the Washington Nationals is to trade Rendon at some point in July 2019. I do not believe he is interested in being with the Nationals long-term. If Rendon and the Nationals were mutually interested in getting a long term deal done it would happen in the 2019 offseason.
Manny Machado getting $300 Million and Nolan Arenado getting $260 Million, set the market for third baseman in the MLB. I believe Rendon is one of the best third basemen in the league and he should be getting over $200 million in the open market.
The Nationals should be patient and make sure they get the best package of prospects that a team is willing to give them for Rendon.
