Mike Matheny Fired As Cardinals Manager

Mike Matheny managed to have a 591-473 record as the Manager of the Cardinals. This included a 100 win season in 2014 and a National League Pennant in 2013.

The St. Louis Cardinals have managed to miss the playoffs the last 2 seasons. They are above .500 but seems to be in danger of missing the playoffs again this season.

Hitting coach John Mabry and assistant hitting coach Bill Mueller were also fired. Bench coach Mike Shildt was named the team's interim manager for the rest of the season.
