Jaguars Sign Blake Bortles To 3-Years $54 Million Extension

The Jaguars have decided to sign Blake Bortles to a 3-years $54 million extension. This will make Bortles a Jaguar through the 2020 season. The deal can reach a maximum of  $66.5 million with incentives, but only $26.5 million is guaranteed.

Before this extension, it was rumored that the Jaguars looking for an upgrade at the quarterback position in the 2018 off-season. It is clear now that the Jaguars are putting their franchise in the hands of Blake Bortles.

Overall I thought Bortles played pretty damn good in the 2017 season. He managed to lead the Jaguars to the AFC championship game against Tom Brady and fell just short. We all know The Jaguars hang their hat on what they do on defense. So Bortles really just needs to be good enough for the Jaguars to be successful.
