Canelo Scores TKO Win Over Kovalev

Canelo Alvarez stopped Sergey Kovalev in the 11th rounds to score a TKO victory in Las Vegas.

Sergey Kovalev did not make things easy for Canelo most of the fight. In fact, if this fight would have gone to the judges I am not totally sure the decision would have gone to Canelo.

He moved up 15 pounds to fight Kovalev at light heavyweight. This victory gives Canelo a historic 4th division title. Alvarez joins a list of Thomas Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Mike McCallum as the only boxers to go from junior middleweight titleholder to win a belt at light heavyweight.
